Party Happenin’ peeps- the 90’s. from “Dewdrop in the Garden”  written by : Lady Kier, sup a DJ Dmitry, and Ani. 1992 -released in 1994. - www.ladykier.com

i raided my grandma Naomi’s record collection to find the sampled sounds for this song for our third and last deee-lite album ,released in 1994. Dmitry added the keys and together with Ani we added the beats . When it came out  a lot of people said it sounded like “Doop” , however we  were playing this on dance floors 2 years before “Doop” was released as we were also working on 14 other songs for the entire “Do-drop” album.I knew it would be a club floor hit because of the responses ,however  it never really did take off at the time- but I’m glad to see how it was a big influence and a cult record today-  2 decades later. The next video I post is the live version - the quality is low but I choreographed this together with chris “noodles” Styles  and we brought this new sound around the world in 94.  hope you enjoy-Lady Miss Kier

When Union organizer M. Murali Mohan was murdered by police, the workers broke into the  co. president’s home and murdered him for revenge.  Globalisation sounded good at first in 1993. It sounded as if we were all connected ,but that isn’t the corp.definition, cheap labor with no benefits is what it’s really about for them.  The workers in this case were unstoppable, tearing down everything in their way, furniture, machinery, vehicles in the compound. One group divided from the others, found the co. president’s home, broke in K C Chandrasekhar’s house and beat him to death as his wife watched in horror.  Out in the town, the demonstrators started fires on their rampage fueled by the pursuit of fair wages. The police did not fire warning shots, they just shot at random,” says Satyanarayana, a union member, adding, “Policemen wouldn’t let us pick up the injured. They lay there bleeding for hours after the shooting.”
2 weeks ago 300 apple employees went to the rooftop of the factory in China threatening to  jump in mass suicide if their wages were’t raised. they didn’t do it BUT this is why we NEED unions .
I agree, some union leaders have become corrupt but not nearly as many as corp. owners , their lobbyists, and  politicians who take their campaign contributions or bribes and together  putting profits  in safe haven countries to avoid paying any U.S. taxes. without their taxes -who’s going to pay for public school, fixing potholes, delivering our mail, collecting our trash, etc….. 2012 is the time when workers from other countries with no minimum wage or benefits raise up and tear it down. Globalisation might allow  us in the US to buy a shirt for 10$ while unemployed , but the people who  did the labor ( since we moved our labor overseas) are not having it anymore. I would like to see manufacturing return to the U.S.  where we already have laws in place to force corporations to pay a fair wage and provide insurance and disability to those injured on the job. Let’s bring back those “made in America” or ‘look for the union label” back to the states and REALLY create more jobs. if we can’t get manufacturing back in the states then we will surely need a GLOBAL MINIMUM WAGE and the same benefits our union leaders fought for here in the U.S to become global.-Lady Miss Kier

i’m not sure about these….if art is meant to shock and terrify than these are important and def intriguing but i can’t help to think how i would respond …it would def ruin my day and make me feel pranked . this artist wants to be the most famous TROLL artist. what do you think? it scares me that most U.S. folks would just walk right on by without trying to help ( the more realistic looking sculptures). with no free mental healthcare we are conditioned in the U.S. to do that.walk on by. maybe that’s his point….but we see this everyday. the distraught, the lonely, the walking dead. maybe he/she’s from europe ? I do like the Macob …..but the world is so violent, lonely , and confused enough. it’s like the ONION. they were funny until i couldn’t tell the difference between the real news and them ( during bush propaganda overload years) You’d have to live in the U.S. to  get what i’m talking about.-lady miss kier

Slavery by Another Name is a 90 minute documentary based on the book of the same name, that challenges one of America’s most cherished assumptions: the belief that slavery in this country ended with Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. airs

They didn’t teach me this in school, but it didn’t take long growing up to find out  how many African American men and women fill our ( now privately owned jails) today for petty crimes or for being innocent  while white collar crime gets away with murder in our screwy U.S.courtrooms where those who can afford the most connected attorney win … not nearly enough has changed even NOW.  Looking forward to seeing this to learn about our recent past and primarily to get the filmmakers take on modern day slavery of 2012 in our U.S. prison system -  lady Miss Kier    www.ladykier.com

I loved the the BLEEPS! before they revived their punk roots for this project and were hugely successful drum n bass producers. it seems we’ve all evolved from that scene and onto new horizons- isn’t that what songwriting and producing and art is about!  The oldest black owned Gay Bar ( since 1952) in Crown Heights serves a loyal and diverse community who were serving it this night. from hiphop,to disco, to early house classics, Dj Lady Miss Kier plays to move the crowd. This night was a benefit to raise funds to help “Starlite” find a new space since AT&T took their old lease. The live performers are legendary.
